Workday Rising 2022
Workday Rising is Workday’s annual largest customer conference. There were 10,000 attendees in 2022, split between in person (Orlando), and digital. I worked on the Workday Rising expo alongside Aly Cunningham, and lead by Kelsey Mauk. I also supported Amanda Hong on the design of our executive networking portion- Executive Symposium.
Buying Center Vignettes
A large focus of this Rising was creating distinct customer journeys for different offices. We aimed to cater unique experiences, and show how Workday supports different industries. We used color throughout the expo to distinguish between customer paths.
Each buying center (CFO, CIO, CHRO, and Industries) had their own “vignette” which offered a unique, interactive, photo opportunity.
Murals
We used the back wall of the large theaters as spaces for murals, where we encouraged attendees to take photos, and post on social, using a hashtag. These brought life to the space, as they were one of the only structures branded outside of the “Workday Rising Brand.”
Badges
I created a system of badges that allowed event workers and attendees to easily differentiate guest types, and access levels.
Swag
I created a variety of buttons for attendees to connect throughout Expo. I also worked on a collection of items for a partnership with One Alliance Orlando. A percentage of proceeds from each item were used to help transform organizations into communities where LGBTQ+ people can belong and thrive.
We raised $1,390 for One Alliance Orlando
Executive Symposium Look and Feel
I supported Amanda Hong (lead) in the design of Executive Symposium at Workday Rising. We collaborated on the look and feel, which we derived from the larger Rising brand. We narrowed the palette, focused on blue, and used grey as another primary color to elevate the look and feel. We came up with an “emblem,” which could be used on it’s own, or as part of a pattern, to give Executive Symposium some distinction.
Executive Symposium Collateral
My primary contributions to Executive Symposium collateral, were the badges, and the physical invites. I designed the badges to fit nicely into the larger Rising badge system, while still standing out through the Executive look and feel. My focus on the physical invites was to make recipients feel special. I wanted the invitation to feel both expensive, and custom, which I achieved with foil, deboss, and a sleeve with a cutout, allowing for seamless removal of the invite.
